About Us

Sensor and Decontamination, Inc. (SDI), in New York since 2005, develops and manufactures hazardous materials cleanup, decontamination, and detection systems.

SDI's research division develops and manufactures (a) high- sorbency, nanostructured materials for internal chemical decontamination, liquid removal, and hazardous vapor control, (b) encapsulant applications to safety and environmental problems, and (c) broad-range, small-scale chemical spill response solutions.  Household tests for current environmental threats are also being developed by SDI.

SpillKleen® hazardous materials cleanup and decontamination products were developed by SDI.

The products made market-ready by SDI together with products of other companies for small-scale chemical spill cleanup applications are sold on SDI's SpillSorber.Com on-line store.  A chemical spill information web site, ChemSpill.Com is also operated by SDI.

The SpillKleen® PetroZorb sorbent product line (patent pending) offers outstanding vapor suppression and flammability hazard elimination.  These sorbent products, manufactured for use when the environment leads to hazardous or explosive vapor buildup, are sold in bottles, pails, and drums of 8-12 mesh beads, bottles and pails of irregular granules, and in 11 inch square pillows.

SDI's most recent product is the SpillKleen® Chemical Spill Kit™.  This first-of-a-kind commercial product is a self-contained, sealed, five gallon bucket with all you need to respond to a broad range of chemicals spills in the analytical, research, and teaching laboratory environment.  Contents are responsive to neutralization of small acid and base spills, removal of the vapor hazard of flammable and other solvent/reagent spills, and mercury spills.  The kit contains everything needed for HazWaste containment, labeling, and preparation for disposal.
